Simplicity!

  • Participating employees are provided a Mastercard that is funded with a promise of employer funds or with employee pre-tax funds. The card is used in a similar fashion as any other credit card when you visit your doctor, pharmacy or for any other approved health care expense. Checking the available balance on the card and reviewing transactions is done simply by logging into your account with the secure log in information provided to you when your account is opened.

Technology

  • Healthy Dollars uses Metavante Corporation’s Benefits Payment System. This state of the art system is fully automated and provides sophisticated controls and features which assists in only allowing eligible expenses as determined by the employer at the point of sale. The system is fully HIPAA compliant and has real time approval for debit card transactions at pharmacies and providers as well as for co-pay and reoccurring expense matching.

Reporting

We feel that access to reporting information is critical in analyzing plan performance and trends so that employers can make proper decisions around plan options and funding levels. 

  • Employers are provided with a login where they can run reports on demand to check employee balances, help with bank reconciliations and view transaction history. All reports are HIPAA compliant in that personal information is excluded from transaction detail. Report formats that are currently available are pdf or Excel so that you can import them into your HR or accounting software.
  • Reports may be set up to be automatically run and emailed to you at whatever frequency you would like whether it be daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, semi-monthly or monthly.
  • Reports can be summarized by department or location, type of claim.

 Flexibility

  • We are able to set up plans so that employees have access to the full HRA amount at the beginning of each plan year or to coincide with payroll (or other) schedules.
  • The HRA amount can be a pre-determined amount at the beginning of the year or be based upon hours worked or contracted work schedules (great for non-profits and contracted workers!).

Multi State

  • Healthy Dollars manages your plans and process your claims whether you have employees in one state or multiple states.
  • Healthy Dollars works with any health plan in any state.  In addition, an HRA plan can be implement without an underlying health plan.
  • Employees are provided online access to check balances, view card transactions and claims history, make demographic changes to their accounts and download forms. 

Claims Processing

  • The Healthy Dollars Debit MasterCard transactions are processed in real time; however there are times where a provider may not accept credit cards.  In this situation, an employee simply completes a manual claim form and submits it with documentation via email, secure fax or mail. Healthy Dollars will then pay the provider directly or reimburse the employee via direct deposit or check.
  • Manual claims processing turnaround is done within 3 days.

Plan Documents

  • Healthy Dollars will complete a Plan Document, Adoption Agreement, SPD (Summary Plan Document) and provide any required employee forms for HRA, Cafeteria and POP plans.
